I started my new course (Art, Design and Media Foundation Diploma Level 4) officially on Monday. We had had two induction days prior to this, and to induce us into the course we made books with the theme '12 Days Of Christmas', some people did their books in a more literal sense, but I wanted mine to be more subtle, just so it can be all pretty!

So I thought I would share with everyone my little project, and I am quite proud of it.

Making cute little journals like this (well a lot better than this) has become a very popular art form recently, you are finding more and more artists doing this kind of work, which is great because the books are lovely, but I really do worry about there being no original ideas eventually, which is sad!

But anyway, although the theme was 12 Days Of Christmas, my main influence came from the front cover of the book I've most recently read 'The Snow Child', it's such a beautiful cover, and it gave me the idea to set most of the book within a forest.

We didn't have to include every bit of the song, so here is what I included:

1. A Partridge

2. Two Turtle Doves

3. 4 Calling Birds

4. 5 Gold Rings

5. Nine Dancing Ladies

And a couple of cute quotes from 'The Snow Child' because well it's lovely and it is rather Christmas related.
