These images are just a few of my favourites from the collection. Anyone who knows me, knows I love a big comfy jumper, especially big comfy jumpers that are interesting and stylish! For this reason McCartney's assymetric layered jumper and jumper dresses scream out to me. Believe me if I could afford one I would buy one without a moments thought!

I also love the combination of the loose floaty trousers, being pulled in to a tiny waist with a massive belt, completed with a subtle sweetheart neckline layered over a skirt. It's classic, but a little different, and surely a look that everyone could pull off.

The dress above, for me, is like a perfect little black dress with a touch of mystery. The layers are elegant, while the added length would allow you to feel like you weren't too exposed. And the neckline/straps, half on the shoulder, half off, gives such a point of interest that jewellery just wouldn't be necessary! (Although looking more closely at this dress, I actually can't tell if it's a long pair of tailored shorts, but even if they are, it's still a marvellous piece of clothing!)

I just love this collection because of the combination of classic tailoring mixed with unconventional shapes, that are used to create classic flattering silhouettes!

I stumbled upon this Giles collection while on Pinterest. It is said that Giles has always aspired to a Parisian level of couture, but occasionally the execution hasn't always been up to scratch, but with this collection he really kicked it up a notch! What I really loved about this collection in the monochrome theme with hints of beige, and inspired by 60s and the idea of bondage, evident in the prints of Chains and belts, and slightly darker still the skeleton print! The bondage idea can also be seen in the patent spiked stilettos, high necks and patents belts and straps!




What I really love though about this collection is the massive Ostrich feathers, (I'm neither for or against real fur and stuff like that). These vast ostrich hats were designed by Stephen Jones. They are just so impressive that you can't help but stop and look!

"A hat makes clothing identifiable, dramatic and, most importantly, fashion... It's the cherry on the cake, the dot on the 'i', the exclamation mark, the fashion focus. Everyone from showgirls to dictators knows that by wearing a hat they will be centre of attention."

I also love the contrast of different shapes within the collection! The white slinky dress is gorgeous, but is massively different than the "ball gown" style dresses. I think the pleated circles is very striking, at first I thought they looked like records. The massive circle connects some of the other shapes within the collection, such as the large floaty shirt in the first image, the massive bishop sleeve style sits wonderfully with the slimmer trousers!

Mary Katrantzou is one of my favourite designers and one of my biggest inspirations for print! I love many of her collections, but since this collections combines two parts of fashion that I love very much; clothes and shoes! I thought it would be a good start and good inspiration for 2016, and a good beginning for the return of my Designer Day series!

Brogues suggest highly-polished daywear in structured shapes, sneakers are constructed to create sleek sportswear in neon-bright and evening miles are cocoons of luxurious texture and vibrant print. This is a collection where no two dresses, ironically, form a matching pair"


I am a sucker for print, so my favourites from this collection are definitely those that feature the brogue prints. At first look the prints are so large that it can be quite impossible to see them for what they are, but any shoe lover would soon recognise the at first abstract print as a wonderful shoe! I also love the simple shapes of the brogue portion of the collection. The simple construction leaves all the admiration for the print. However I do have a special place in my fashion heart for the brogue top and skirt combination, a simple top paired with a pleated skirt. The mix of directions of the pleats just has such a wonderful effect!

As most people know, Oscar De La Renta has died. (Except my boyfriend, because I don't know most of the footballers he mentions so we're equal!) So I just thought I'd share a couple of images from a few of his collections. "Oscar de la Renta was a world-renowned fashion designer, revered for his couture-like-ready-to-wear collections that have provided many a show stopping moment on the red carpet. After launching his eponymous line in 1965, the designer developed a successful bridal, fragrance and homeward collections that established his reputation as one of the most successful and respected designers in the industry, with his exquisite designs having been worn by everyone from Jacqueline Kennedy, to modern starlets such as Gisele Bundchen, Anne Hathaway and Liv Tyler" - Vogue.com All his collections are so different and have explored so many avenues of fashion, but always keeping a high standard of manufacture, amazing shapes and delicate patterns. I especially like the first collection I've featured, the right florals and mix of French Toile de Joue influence is beautiful and a pattern that I really really love!
