Dress #1

20:22

Here's a quick revelation; when I grow up (makes me sound about 6) I want to be a fashion designer (and I have since I was about 6). Therefore I have decided to dedicate a post to each dress I make, believe me there aren't many because I don't have a lot of spare time or much money for material.

Now this is the first dress I ever made. I made it in either late September or early October for one of my best friend's 18th birthday party. I really needed a new dress, but there wasn't anything I was that impressed with in the shops and I was rather low on money, and the material I used actually worked out cheaper than buying a dress, unless I found a real bargain. Luckily everyone liked it at the party and everyone was rather surprised I'd made it, quite a few people asked if it was from TopShop!

I didn't use a pattern and as I'd never made a wearable dress before I wanted to make it as easy for myself as I could, so I kind of cheated and made it backless.

My little sister kindly came and took photos, however we had to do it quite quickly as we were expected home for dinner. The top photo happened to be the one of the best, which is fairly annoying as I look like I'm hunching my shoulders. However you get to see the nice spotty material.
Loving how the colour of my hair has changed so much in just two photos. I've also just realised it looks like I was taking the photo in the second one, I assure you I wasn't, my sister must have just mastered the zoom button.
Hope everyone likes my first attempt at a wearable dress, I'm in the process of finishing another, so there should be a new one of these posts soon.
So remember, each day, live a little, laugh a little and love a little.

    1. Thank you =D
Making dresses is stressful, I was almost crying to my mum when I did this one, I was so scared it would go wrong.
And yeah, all the other photos with smiles made my face look really fat. =O
