A Garden of Gravel

As we have discovered that Kerry's new house has a gravel front garden we immediately got to thinking what we could do it make it more exciting/prettier, so I have been rummaging through the internet for some inspiration.

It's probably rather obvious that I like the look of lavender among gravel, it's just so pretty and really calming. I also think that poppies growing out from the gravel would look lovely, but once they die away it would look a little bare.
If anyone has any ideas or any photos they would like to share, you can email me or leave a comment.

I'm so glad you like the idea, we need to see how much soil is available until the gravel first, but we are planning on transferring some of the poppies!
